The diversity and expertise of Changemakers, Green Business Academics and Web n.0 Experts will in a rapid prototyping process create new approaches to addressing social issues and business interests – our social and business innovations are based on the ideas and values of next generation leaders, decision makers and entrepreneurs.

Our interdisciplinary and web-inspired thinking is the key to generating innovations within existing companies or to creating new sustainable ventures. Think of open innovation, massive group collaboration, CSR, green thinking, non-formal education and rapid prototyping designed to address social and business change.

As much as we are treehuggers, we also understand sustainable entrepreneurship as an approach to adding long-term social and economical value. The question is: how and for what are you aiming for profit, and how do you generate it? We create value-based social and business innovations for social and business change.
We offer you the space to plant your ideas – our investors the resources to make them grow. It is a lot about the right people, the right place and the opportunity – and we provide you with all of these. But: You have to take the chance.

The Social Business Startup Camp SBSC is an initiative on the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2011 – our concept is aspiring and visionary: We are going to bring together a wide variety of people to leverage new startups and ventures that are based on the next generation’s sustainable values, ideas and knowledge. We call this diversity-based sustainable social and business innovations.
The SBSC’s story is a little bit bigger: This is a social business startup itself. And the reason why is very simple – we basically came upon this idea that kept us thinking and motivated. We do know what we are aiming for: 7 days of intense startup incubation. We know what want: People and ventures that revolutionize and deliver long-term sustainable social and business impact. But what we’re still determining is how best to get there. We are web-driven – we believe in the connection of people and ideas and in this way we will share our project development online with you. Join us to learn how we use the web to incubate our idea, and many, many more, at the SBSC in November 2011! Get in touch at: teamsbsc@30dna.com

We are sourcing Europe and the World and will bring together a collection of excellent, inspiring people from fields such as social business science, startup and green industries as well as society and the web to figure out together with you how to generate social and business innovations, and how social businesses can facilitate sustainable social and environmental change.
As much as we understand social business concepts as a new and sustainable mean of participating in economy as much we do foster volunteering and social activism as next generation´s mean of contributing, co-creating and democratizing society. We value people that can learn you exactly this and we won them as mentors to support and educate you on taking pro-active responsibility in society. They will share with you and learn how community-driven interaction is strengthening collaboration, interaction and intercultural understanding. Participation for life-long learning and well-being.
Our mentors from science will support you in transforming academic concepts into practice. Throughout the process they will ensure a maximum of interdisciplinary learning and exchange, implementing a scientific approach to learning. Based on your ideas, findings and developments at the event, they will develop an educational framework to organize follow-up activities and the creation of the SBSC Build Future network.
New technologies and especially the internet are changing ways of interaction fundamentally. We know experts from these fields that that can enable and accelerate these processes. They will support and assist you in gaining a multidimensional perspective on how technologies can facilitate democratization, grass root empowerment, multi-space interaction and collaboration. Our “tech” mentors come both from hardcore software engineering and the field of UI design, as well as from launching web-startups and social movements.

The Social Business Startup Camp is currently considering options and partnerships to host the event. If you consider a particiluar interest in this process, subject and framework feel invited to contact us and to elaborate together on future options.
At the moment we intend to cover the cost for a vast majority of the participants by a subsidized grant program. Details on our support schemes will be released as soon as possible.
